BURIED ALIVE PROJECT

BURIED ALIVE PROJECT

Launched with support from the Deason Center and #cut50, the Buried Alive Project works to eliminate life-without-parole sentences for non-violent federal drug offenders. The Deason Center’s interdisciplinary group of SMU student-volunteers helped the Buried Alive Project develop data that tracks the imposition of these life sentences and uncover the stories of the federal prisoners who have been “buried alive” by harsh drug laws.
